Bundle Monster Nail "Effects" Strips review

Hey guys!

I must apologize for my absence as of late, last week I came down with a nasty sinus infection which then spiraled into a double ear infection :( I'm still a little snuffly but on the mend. But since I had infections my nails went to shit completely, they all broke and now I'm sporting some super nubs! Thankfully I took these photos before they all broke but I was so tired last week I just didn't have the energy to get this post together and for that I apologize. Me thinks I really need to get some posts built up ;)

But let's get back to the reason you're all here... NAILS! I've got a review of Bundle Monster's Nail "Effects" Strips below.

Bundle Monster Nail "Effects" Strips are essentially stickers for your nails. They aren't actual nail wraps, you know the kind make with polish, they are thicker then that. While they are thick they are very flexible and I didn't have a problem making them fit to my nails. I did however have one problem with these strips, they aren't very sticky :( I don't know if it's because my nail beds are on the oilier side or if they just didn't want to stick. I found it easiest to apply them over a base coat and then seal them in with top coat. Using this method made them stay put. But on the positive side they are SO pretty! So sparkly and fun!

You can see my issue in the photos below, my pinky nail just would not stay down!

Nail "Effects" Strips retail for $2.50USD and come in a variety of designs. They can be purchased at www.bundlemonster.com along with a boat load of other awesome stuff! Stay up to date with all the happenings by following Bundle Monster:

Spring into spring

Spring.... what's that like? Eeeesh we're supposed to be getting snow today so I'm posting these to maybe convince mother nature that we really don't need anymore snow. Maybe it will work.... -_-

LOL But anyways I was itching to do some more gradients and I thought some nice light colors would look spring appropriate, though they came out a bit more "easter egg-ish" then I would have liked I still think they work ;)

I started with a base of Essie Blanc on all of my nails. When that was dry I created the gradient using Lime Crime Crema de Limon, Maybelline Color Show Green With Envy, and Essie Rock the Boat. I stamped over the gradient using Polish Me To Go White Undies and Bundle Monster plate BM-408. I top coated everything with Poshe and I was feeling super springy!

I was really happy with the way PMTG White Undies stamped, I've been looking for a white that worked and I think this may just be the one!

What are you guys doing to try to coax the warm weather out?
Thanks loves :)

Galaxy Nails: Tribal Space Edition

Yes this awesomesauceness of a manicure just happened.... whatttttt

I don't even know where this idea came from but I am obsessed! I wanted to do some more galaxy nails because I haven't done any in a while and then I just started painting over them with white acrylic paint and then this happened... galaxy nails, the tribal space edition ;)

Okay let's get this process rolling! I started with a base of E.L.F Sea Escape on all of my nails. When that was dry I created the galaxies using Essie Blanc, Color Club Over The Moon, Color Club Eternal Beauty, Lime Crime Parfait Day and Lime Crime Lavendairy. I added a layer of China Glaze Fairy Dust for the starry effect but you really can't even see it -_- LOL Then I used white acrylic paint and a small nail art brush to create the tribal design on top. When everything was dry I decided to mattify it with NYC Matte Me Crazy and tadaaaaa!

Does this next picture look incredibly orange to you? In my files it looks normal but every time I upload it to blogger it looks so orange and no matter how many times I delete it and upload it again it won't change... so I hope it looks normal but if it doesn't I'll have to delete it again boo!!!

I really just love these so much! A little bit of self love isn't bad right...... right?! LOL

So what do you guys think? Do you have any other ideas for galaxy nails?
Thanks loves :)

Inspiration Nation: FILTH Designs

So I was on the hunt for some nail inspiration the other day and I was looking for a challenge. I was searching the internet when I decided to take a trip over to my friend's Facebook page. My friend Nick is an extremely talented artist and he has a Facebook page solely for his designs, I highly recommend you check it out ;) Anyways I stumbled upon THIS design that he did a little while back and knew I had to take some inspiration from it, there's actually a few things I want to do with the design so keep your eyes peeled for some more posts!

I started with a base of Essie Blanc on all of my nails. I painted on all of the black designs with black acrylic paint and let them dry. When they were dry I added a layer of HITS Hefesto, because boys never make anything sparkle! It's a crime really ;) I finished the design off with some Poshe top coat.

With flash :)
Ahhhh these were so much fun to create!! I mean they took a little while (3 hours -_-) but it was definitely worth it to see the look on Nick's face when I showed him LOL

What do you think? Have you ever been inspired to do nail art off a design like this?
Thanks loves :)

The incredible, ever-changing water marble featuring Ruby Wing polishes

Whew long title much?! LOL

I have a soft spot in my heart for Ruby Wing polishes, I love the fact that they change color, it really makes for some unique manicures. I had an idea to use some of their new spring line in a water marble and even though the polishes didn't want to spread I managed to get a halfway decent marble out of it :)

I started with a base of Essie Blanc so that the colors from the marble would really pop. When that was dry I created the water marble using Ruby Wing In Your Dreams, Ruby Wing Silk Sheets, and Ruby Wing Kitten Heels. I sealed everything in with some Poshe top coat and waited for the color-changing goodness.

Oh and I thought now would be a good time to show off my ring that my wonderful and thoughtful boyfriend got me for Valentine's Day. It's been getting sized for two weeks now.... thanks mom for giving me tiny baby hands.. I'm a size 5 1/2 LOL! But I love it so much I couldn't help but show it off! I hope you guys don't mind ;)

And here it is after I stuck them under a UV lamp!

I'm so glad this actually came out the way I pictured it! I wish the polishes covered a bit better, but I think I could have fixed that with some more drops, but oh well too late for that now!

Do you guys love color-changing polishes or what??
Thanks loves :)

Bundle Monster Nail Water Decals

Ready for an awesome review??

I've got some Bundle Monster water decals to share with you guys today. Now I have to be honest, before I got sent some of these items for review I didn't even know Bundle Monster carried them. I mean all you nail enthusiasts I'm sure recognize the name Bundle Monster, but when I think of them I immediately think of their stamping plates. I didn't even realize that they carried other nail art supplied but boy am I glad I know now! I can see them getting a good amount of my paycheck next week ;) LOL

Anyways on with the review!

Bundle Monster's Water Transfer Nail Art comes with three sheets of transferrable water decals covered with a protective plastic cover. I chose the cute kitty designs. The decals are easy to use, first you remove the protective covering and cut out the design you wish to transfer to your nail. Then take a cup full of room temperature water and grab the image with tweezers. Dip the image in the water for 10-20 seconds. When the image is ready to be transferred dip the nail you wish the design to be on into the water to wet it, slide the image off of the paper backing and position it on your nail. When the image is where you like take a napkin and gently blot the remaining moisture. When it's dry add a layer of top coat and you're good to go. Check out the design I created using the decals :)

All of the designs are so cute and unique! I'm definitely loving these cute stripe-y kitties.

The water decals retail for $1.99USD for three sheets. You can purchase these decals and many more nail art products at www.bundlemonster.com. And make sure you stay up to date with all new happenings by following them:

St. Patrick's Day Pot O'Gold Mini Leopard Nails

Happy St. Patrick's Day cupcakes!

I don't really celebrate the holiday myself but it sure is fun to create some nail art for the occasion! Green is not usually a color that I reach for... I don't know why really, I love green, but it's not my first choice for manicures, weird.

But, St. Patrick's Day is the perfect time to remedy that situation :)

For this particular design I really wanted to try my hand at some mini leopard print, and surprisingly enough it didn't turn out too bad!

I started with a base of Essie Blanc and then created the gradient using Zoya Mitzi, China Glaze I'm With The Lifeguard, and China Glaze Con-Fused?. When that was dry I created the mini leopard print with black acrylic paint and the spots with Essie Penny Talk. I top coated with some Poshe and I'm ready for St. Patty's Day!

I'm actually really surprised that these didn't take that long, I finished them in around an hour and a half. And as far as this being my first attempt, I'm very happy with them! But there's plenty of room for improvement and I'm looking forward to tacking these again. :)

What do you think guys? What are you doing for St. Patrick's Day?
Thanks loves :)

Swatches: Polish Me To Go

*press samples*
I've got some super pretty polishes from Polish Me To Go to share with you guys today.

Polish Me To Go is an indie brand, and a well known one at that. This is my first experience with PMTG and I have to say it has been amazing! I have five polishes to show you today and two extra goodies not pictured.

The first of the two goodies was the PMTG Cuticle Oil. If you know me you know I love cuticle oil and creams! I basically live off of my Lush Cuticle Butter and I'm always looking for some new products. And PMTG Cuticle Oil definitely ranks high on my list. It has a wonderful vanilla scent that isn't too overpowering. The oil absorbs really fast and after about ten minutes my hands aren't greasy at all. Before each of my swatches below I've moisturized with the PMTG Cuticle Oil and you can see that my cuticles don't look greasy, just nice and moisturized ;)

The second of the goodies was the PMTG Top Me To Shine top coat. I was super excited to try this out! The PMTG Top Me To Shine top coat is a quick drying, high gloss top coat that is said not to cause any shrinkage (when the polish pulls away from the tips of you nails or around your cuticle after top coat is applied, wicked annoying!) I've used the top coat in all of my swatches below and for a few other manicures and have to say I've had absolutely no shrinkage whatsoever. Top Me To Shine is nice and thin, doesn't smudge my manicures, and is dry to the touch in five minutes flat! This may even be my new go-to top coat.

Now who's ready for some polishes?? I do have to make one note though, the polishes themselves have a quite strong scent, I can't put my finger on what it is but it did give me an instant headache, this doesn't steer me away from these polishes at all I just thought it was a note worth mentioning.

White Undie is a pure white polish meant to be worn under glow-in-the-dark polishes or anything else that requires 'undies'. Because it's meant to be worn under it's extremely opaque, this is just ONE coat of White Undie. The formula was thicker because it is so pigmented but it was very easy to work with. Below is one coat of White Undie with one coat of PMTG Top Me To Shine top coat.

Liberty is a pretty mint polish that glows a stunning aqua in the dark. The formula was nice and thin and I used a coat of White Undie under the polish to enhance the glow and make the color more prominent. Below is two coats of Liberty over one coat of White Undies and topped with a coat of PMTG Top Me To Shine top coat.

Queen of Hearts is a bright orange leaning red creme that glows pinkish red orange in the dark. When layered over white this polish is seriously bright! The formula was smooth and thin and applied perfectly. Below is two coats of Queen of Hearts over one coat of White Undie and topped with a coat of PMTG Top Me To Shine top coat.

Tainted Love is a bright pink jelly with medium and small black glitters and a subtle blue shimmer. This polish glows bright pink in the dark. The formula was thicker then the others because of the addition of the glitters but still easily manageable. Below is two coats of Tainted Love over one coat of White Undie and topped with a coat of PMTG Top Me To Shine top coat.

Snow Glow is a matte white polish that glows bright aqua in the dark. I got the best glow out of this one it was seriously bright! The formula was thin and slightly gritty, I'm not sure if its because it's a matte polish or it's the glow-in-the-dark particle but I just added top coat and the grittiness disappeared. Below is two coats of Snow Glow over one coat of White Undie and topped with a coat of PMTG Top Me To Shine top coat.

Polish Me To Go polishes retail between 7.00-12.00USD for 15ml bottles. You can purchase these polishes and many more at www.polishmetogo.bigcartel.com. Make sure you stay up to date with all the happenings by following at:

Have any of you tried out glow-in-the-dark polishes before? What do you think of them?

Nail art using Color Club 2014 Safari Garden

Weeeeeeeeeeee Daylight Savings Time!

I don't know about you guys but daylight savings time is basically like Christmas for me, that extra hour at night literally boosts my mood so much. I don't know if you guys can tell but I'm definitely NOT a winter person, it's just so depressing! And daylight savings times is just one small step towards spring and I look forward to it every year ;)

But enough about that, lets get on to some nail art!

When I received the Color Club spring collection in the mail I really loved how they complimented each other and immediately I started thinking up ways to incorporate them into some nail art. I'm excited about what I came up with so take a look ;)

I started with a base of Color Club Look, Don't Tusk and created a gradient using the same and Color Club In De-Nile. When that was dry I used some striping tape and taped off near my cuticles and used Color Club Nail-Robi for the triangle design. I topped it all off with some Poshe and the design was done!

I really love the simple-ness to this mani and I love how subtle the gradient is. It creates such a sweet look, but striking with the addition of the dark Nail-Robi. I got so many comments on these when I wore them it was a lot of fun!

What do you think? How would you use the colors in Color Club's new spring line for some art? Leave it in the comments and maybe I'll feature your idea :)

Thanks loves :)

Negative Space: Chevron Edition

Booooo on me!

I've been such a bad little blogger :(

I mean I have been painting my nails and taking photos I just haven't found the time to edit them and write blog posts. I got back into reading which I knew was a bad idea because I love reading and I knew it would suck all my blogging time up but hey, I'm weak I couldn't resist LOL! Now it seems that I've caught a bit of a cold, I've been taking my vitamins and eating oranges like it ain't nobody's business so hopefully I can kick it's butt ;) Not that I want to bore you with the details of my life but I figured you all deserved an explanation as to why I've been absent.

Anyways, I've been loving on negative space nails lately and I had an idea that I really wanted to try out and after 3 hours and countless swears it finally came out the way I envisioned it!

I started with a base coat of OPI Nail Envy on all of my nails. Then I went back with Wet'n'Wild Black Creme, Color Club Beyond, and Color Club Eternal Beauty and created a chevron-esque design, making sure to leave a tiny bit of space between colors so that my natural nail could shine through. I used 3 coats of Poshe top coat to get a smooth finish... although I could have used a fourth I think ;)

I love these so much right now! I was seriously upset to take them off but hey, after 5 days they were all chipped and gross I had no choice -_-

What do you think? I think I'm going to try to do some more negative space nails in the near future so keep your eyes open for some more!

Thanks loves :)
